Free Networking Fair for Aspiring/Current Entrepreneurs Over 50!

SBA and AARP Team up to Bring Local Resources to Bozeman Entrepreneurs & Celebrate National Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Day

Did you know that 63% of Americans plan to work during retirement?  What is your plan?  Business ownership may be a practical option for you.  It can be a second career or a chance to leverage your life experiences into an interesting and financially practical “encore” career.

On October 2, 2012 the Small Business Administration (SBA) and AARP team up to host an Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Day targeted at entrepreneurs over the age of fifty.  A mentor can be an invaluable resource to aspiring entrepreneurs, providing advice and guidance from someone who has been down a similar path.  We invite you to come and meet with your local small business resources including the local SCORE Chapter, Sean Becker of the Small Business Development Center, and Amanda Schultz from the Montana Women’s Business.  Representatives from the Montana District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Montana AARP will also be in attendance.

Bozeman Small Business Resource Networking Fair

October 2, 2012

City Hall – 121 N. Rouse Avenue

Large Commissioners Room

11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

(Presentations from Noon – 1:00 p.m.)

SBA and AARP signed a strategic alliance memorandum to promote entrepreneurship among individuals ages fifty and older. Corporate layoffs, the need for supplemental income, and a desire for a more flexible lifestyle are all reasons that older Americans are considering becoming entrepreneurs.  SBA and AARP along with their many resource partners will provide the training and mentoring services these entrepreneurs need to successfully start and grow businesses and create jobs.
