Someone prepared your Form 990, now what?  Come learn how to navigate and review this very important and public document.  Learn what to look for, how to effectively review it with your Board of Directors, and how the form tells your organization’s story.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

Kyla Stafford currently serves as Anderson ZurMuhlen’s Office Vice President for their Bozeman location. Kyla is a graduate of Montana State University, where she earned bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Spanish, as well as a Masters in Professional Accountancy. In public accounting for 18 years, Kyla has worked extensively with nonprofits and local businesses, and is also very active in her community. She has served Greater Gallatin United Way as Board Chair, member of the Finance Committee, Chair for Succession Planning Committee, and Chair of Executive Search Committee.  She has also served as a member of Bozeman Sunrise Rotary, on the Board and Finance Committee for Family Promise of Gallatin Valley, and on the Board for the Children’s Museum of Bozeman.   At the state-wide level, she served as Board President with the Montana Society of CPAs, where she previously also served on several committees and as Secretary / Treasurer.  She regularly volunteers her time to help local nonprofits with their annual dinner and auction fundraisers, including the Bozeman Health Foundation, Museum of the Rockies, HRDC, Children’s Museum of Bozeman, and Thrive.

Heather Walstad has been in public accounting for over 10 years, and serves numerous nonprofits as a Senior Manager at Anderson ZurMuehlen.  Through years of providing audit, tax, and consulting services to nonprofits across the state, she has developed extensive expertise specific to this industry. Heather holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, as well as a Masters in Professional Accountancy, from Montana State University.  Heather currently serves on the Board of Directors and Finance Committee of Eagle Mount.
