You’ll learn what the MSU campuses buy, how they buy, how much they buy, and how you can best position your company to provide them with the goods and services that they need.


Brian O’Connor, MSU Director of Procurement Services will be the featured presenter.

Brian obtained his bachelor’s degree in 1993 from the University of California at San Diego. After working in the private sector for a few years, he and his wife relocated to Bozeman in 1997. Since that time Brian has been employed at Montana State University. He has served in several administrative and financial roles on campus in University Business, Auxiliary, and Facilities Services.

He has been in his current role as Director of Procurement Services for Montana State University since 2012. In this role, Brian has been actively engaged in leading and transforming the culture of MSU Procurement from a department concentrated solely on compliance, to a customer-focused strategic partner for MSU’s varied procurement needs. In the spring of 2015, Brian and his team received the MSU “Pure Gold” award for their efforts in customer service, efficiency and responsiveness. Brian is married and has two daughters. His hobbies include watching baseball, fly fishing and enjoying the beautiful Montana outdoors.
