  • Determining an organization’s “grant readiness”
  • 10 reasons why you might not apply for a grant
  • How to find your best grant prospects
  • How to read a 990-PF to learn more about a foundation
  • 5 questions you must answer in every grant proposal easy and effective ways to improve proposal writing

Participants will also learn how to use grant research database to find grant opportunities and can use that information, if enrolling in the all-day grant writing boot camp (coming February 2017).

Grant Writing Boot Camp will be a full-day workshop where participants will learn effective strategies for successful grant writing and leave with new ideas and actual writing samples that can be incorporated in their next grant proposal.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Laura Rhodes is the principal at Third Sector Consulting, a boutique nonprofit consulting firm based in Bozeman, MT.  Laura specializes in prospect research as well as grant writing support for organizations that want to write their own grants. She also leads workshops, webinars, retreats and fundraising training for nonprofit staff and boards.

Laura has more than 15 years of experience in philanthropy, fundraising and nonprofit development. She has worked on staff and also served as a board member for numerous nonprofit organizations. Prior starting her consulting business, Laura was a program officer with the American Express Foundation.

Having been both a grantmaker and a fundraiser, Laura uses her unique perspective to help nonprofits find more funders, win more grants and raise more money for their cause.
